The first International Kumihimo Conference took place in Kyoto in November 2007. Information about that conference can be found at;

The conference proceedings were published as a 147 page book - "Space, Time & Braid".

This includes all the papers presented at the conference, information about the workshops (including instructions to make a number of different types of braid) and also photographs from the conference exhibition.
