Braids 2012, the 2nd international braiding conference will be held in
Manchester, England from August 19-25th , 2012.

England will be hosting the Olympics in London in August concluding on 18th August, followed by the Para Olympics from 26th August so this conference is designed to bridge the two events.

Manchester is a thriving city in the north of England and has a long textile history.
In addition to the museums, galleries and theatres in Manchester, there are museums nearby such as the Silk Museum in Macclesfield, Styal Mill and Helmshore Mill.
For outdoor activities, the beautiful Lake District is a short journey away and the transport links from Manchester connect to all areas of England, Scotland and Wales.
We look forward to seeing you in 2012

Booking now open!!!

We have a wonderful line up of tutors from all over the world and the most difficult thing is to decide which workshops to attend. In addition to the workshops, we have some great speakers as well, starting with Jacqui Carey who will give the keynote speech on Sunday evening.
As a break in the middle of the week, there is an opportunity to visit the Silk Museum at Macclesfield. The Museum is housed in three buildings including Paradise Mill which has a number of working Jacquard looms. Macclesfield is an interesting town with a long history.
Other entertainment will include the Braiders' Bazaar and the Conference Dinner.
The Braiders' Bazaar will be an opportunity for us all to spend some money! The stalls will be open to anyone who wants to sell craft related items such as threads, equipment or books.
